South West Parade in Toome

As part of the SW Antrim Centenary Celebrations a blitz for U10’s and U8’s has been arranged for Saturday 11th September in Toome. The event will start with a parade from the side of the hotel to Cargin pitch. Assemble at 9.45am for 10am start.

This will be followed by a blitz for the ages shown below. Each team will consist of 12 players (10 a side).

Please indicate which group you will be represented in.

U 10 Football

U 8 Football

U 10 Hurling

U 10 Camogie

The matches will be played on six pitches at a time and we need to know the exact number of teams that will attend.

Every player will receive a specially commissioned medal to mark the event.

Please let me know by Monday 6th September what teams you will send.

The second part of the celebration will take the form of a dinner in the Elk on Sunday 7th November which will be attended by Christie Cooney. Details of this eg cost etc, will hopefully be available by the middle of next week. It is essential that clubs be able to support this event.

Moneyglass will be taking part in these celebrations and ask u8-u10 to assemble at Toome , we will then pick a team to play in the tournament.

U12/U14 Girls Latest results

Moneyglass under 14 girls played Ardoyne at home on Thurs 24th July and were successful by the narrow margin of one point.

Under 12s continued their good season with a win against Antrim and Glenavy at Glenavy Sunday 27th July.

Under 14s hosted a challenge match against New York Tues 29th July, and although they enjoyed the experience New York were a much stronger and taller team. It was explained to me afterwards that the team was the best of five or six club teams in New York, so really as a single club team the girls did as well as they could. New York went on to be narrowly beaten in the final of their section in the feile, so well done to them. We are invited back to them next year so we may start saving.

Under 14s played Lamh derg fri 2nd July at Lamh Derg and won with a good margin. There are no under 14 games now for the month of July and there are still a few league games to be played at the end of august.Training continues on Friday night for the month of July for all age groups. There is an under 12 and under 10  blitz at Glenariffe on Sunday 25th July, girls will be further informed at training.
