Campa Saffron 16-17yr olds

Following on from the success of the Saffron Ogs and the Cul Camps within the county, Antrim have decided to attempt to “raise the bar” for our teenagers. Antrim are running several coaching camps for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17. These camps will be intensive 3 day events organized and coached by full-time coaching staff from both Antrim and Ulster GAA. They will include a variety of elements for Skill Development (e.g attacking play, decision making) and Player Education (e.g nutrition, core stability). There will be guest appearances from county hurling and football stars. The camps are open to all club and development squad players within the relevant age groups. The cost is £15 per person. This includes a unique Under Armour ‘Campa Saffron’ t-shirt. Please see the Campa Saffron schedule below:

Senior -Reserve - Minor Win

A good week for football at Moneyglass with Senior , Reserve and Minor all winning their home games , the senior team continued their winning run of games this week by defeating Portglenone on Wednesday night . The senior’s did not make things easy for themselves with alot of short passing around the midfield and getting no distance but hard work and grit provided the final result they needed to keep themselves up in division 1 , the final score was 0-12 vs 1-7  . Sunday mornings  fixture at home for the Reserve was at 12.30 , the match itself was a fast passed battle with Lamh Dhearg taking advantage of every point they could but Moneyglass was the fittest and better team on the day but left it until the last ten minutes to seal the win with three late points , the final score  1-9 vs 2-4 . Thursday at Moneyglass was the replay between Sarsfields and the minor team at 7.30pm . There was descent support for both sides on the evening which started of with Sarsfields score two points in quick succession . Sarsfields continued to travel the lenght of the pitch at a fast pace matched by the Moneyglass minor players but we ended the first half down by two points . In the second half Moneyglass showed that they were the fitter side as Sarsfields had burnt themselves out in the first half and could not reply to the Moneyglass as we scored two goals the first from Niall Brogan followed by a second from Niall boyd this along with two point from play by Ryan Mc Greevy ensured that our lads left the field with a well deserved win , the final score 2-12 vs 0-13 , they play again on Tuesday night against Aldergrove venue TBC.  Friday evening football training sessions has resumed for the u/6/8/10 at the pitch and all weekday training has resumed after our break . The Cul Camp this year will be taken again by Kevin Brady from the 9th - 13th August and the Saffron Og camp will be running in parallel .
