Club Volunteer Day
You are probably well aware that our grounds are need of some repairs and maintenance.
All of the activity that is currently carried out on the grounds is done by a very small number of volunteers in their spare time. However this is very demanding and it is impossible for these people do all the necessary work.
In order to help improve the appearance of our premises a programme of work will take place over the next few weekends commencing on Saturday 12th June at 10:00am. This is your opportunity to give a helping hand and to do a little bit more for your Club.
If you could spare a few hours please come along to help and enjoy the camaraderie.
Here are some of the jobs that need to be done:
Replace flagstones around pavilion |
General clean up |
Replace handrail around pitch fence |
Paint handrail around pitch fence and either side of pavilion |
Replace concrete posts around pitch |
Replace chain link on RHS of entrance to grounds |
Rebuild dwarf walls at the front of the pavilion |
Paint dug outs, front of pavilion, pedestrian gates, etc. |
Paint goal posts |
Cut grass, spray weed killer around goal posts |
Line out pitch |
Plaster dugouts |
Clean dugouts |
Repair catch nets |
Paint shop door |
Wash windows and fascia boards |
In order to do this absolutely anyone can help. We would need a few bricklayers though to build the walls. If you are fit and willing at all please come along and bring a few tools if you can such as: power washers, wire brushes, sledge hammers, wheel barrows, ladders, yard brushes, strimmers, pliers, spanners, saws, drills, etc.
We look forward to seeing a good turn out.
