U10/U14 Girls Success

This has been a great week for the under age girls football at Moneyglass. On Sunday 25th April under 10s and under 12s played two games each against Glenariffe and Creggan and each age group won their both games. It is great to see girls at this age play and compete so well. All the girls enjoyed the day and I was told at the end of the day that they wanted to play more football. A good sign as this was the first of seven under age blitz.

The under 14s played St Brigids Tues 27th at Moneyglass pitch. They played very well and got their first win off the season, A great achievement as St Brigids had been unbeaten to this stage. Moneyglass hope to build on this win and are playing Ardoyne tues 24th at Ardoyne.

U14 Girls vs Glenariffe

The first under 14 league match was tues 13th April against glenariffe in glenariffe. It was certainly a baptism of fire as the Moneyglass under 14 team came up against a very strong and well organised Glenariffe squad and were well beaten.  To add insult to injury Glenariffe are managed by Pauline Mc Tosh(Mc Coy),a Moneyglass girl. However the Moneyglass team are very young and inexperienced as there was no under 14 girls team last year, and hopefuly the team will stay together and get stronger with every game. The team travel to St Pauls in belfast next Tues who also have an older and very experienced team. We will keep trying to continue to improve.
