We at St Ergnat’s GAC , Moneyglass , aim to promote the participation of children in our club by creating a culture of safety and fun .
Children have the right to be protected from all forms of violence; they must be kept safe from harm and they must be given proper care by those looking after them.
All childrens sport should be conducted in an atmosphere of fair play. This club is fully committed to the safeguarding and well being of its members . Every individual in the club should at all times , show respect and understanding for their rights, safety and welfare, and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the club and the guidelines contained in the “Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport in Ireland . To ensure that the club follows the best practice we shall comply with these guidelines .
Standards set by St Ergnat’s GAC, Moneyglass will be achieved through ensuring:-
- Development of awareness of the issues which lead children being harmed .
- Provision of traiining for volunteers / coaches.
- Application of Codes of Conduct for volunteers / coaches .
- Application of Code of Conduct for parents .
- Identification and maintenance of parental responsibility.
- Provision of a safe playing / training enviroment.
- Appointing a child Protection Officer.
- Establishment of procedures for dealing with / recording of complaints / incidents.
- Designating the Club Chairperson to act as liason with the Statutory Authorities.
- Regular review and monitoring of the Child Protection Procedures by committee.
This policy applies to those involved in St Ergnat’s GAC, coaches , administrators, officials, grounds men, volunteers , parents and young people .
