U6/8/10 Go Games

The boys are entered into a Go Games League which will take place from the satrt of May 2009 until the end of August 2009. Teams involved are Glenravel, Dunloy, Portglenone ,Rasharkin, Cargin, Creggan and Antrim .

Dates are subject to change there is a time schedule and matches will commence at 12pm and will finish 1.30pm . In order to assist with transport it is important that parents ensure that their child/children are at the venue for 11.30am so that the time schedule is maintained as near as possible. U21 Championship / Reserve

Moneyglass play Cargin on Monday 27th April  @ 7.15pm at Moneyglass . The reserve match was refixed from Sunday afternoon at short notice by the county and now will play on Wednesday 29th at Moneyglass

Cultural Classes Dates Confirmed

Cultural classes will commence from Mon 4th May as below
Tin Whistle Saturdays 11.00-12.00 am
Irish Language Wed nights 7.30-8.30pm
Fiddle Wed nights 7.30-8.15pm
Irish singing Tue 7-8pm

GAA 125th Schools Day

It was a dull start to the morning but as the children arrived  in their favourite GAA kit with faces painted the atmosphere changed  to  excitment   not only at  Millquarter but   St Oliver Plunket in Toome and Moneynick . The club planted memorial trees  to mark the occasion at the three schools buy club members and at Millquarter by our club chairman Gerard Weir .

Miss  Murray and  children from Millquarter  watched  chairman of St Ergnat’s Gerard Weir  plant the tree  to mark the beginning of our events celebration  schedule .

Members of the executive committee attended the days event including Vice Chairman Anthony Kearney , Hugh Mc Cann , Bridie Scullin, Mary Martin and Stephen Mc Greevy P.R.O .

Children received tuition from coaches from the club Cailin Weir , Annmarie Mc Cormack , Benny Marron and Donal Laverty . Afterwards the children received certificates to mark the event.

Cargin Match Postponed

At short notice and without reason this Wednesdays Div1 & 2 matches have been postponed until Sunday 31st May , no further information is available .

125th Celebration History Wall

The Social and Culture Events Committee invite you to contribute a written piece or memoir about our club . This will be displayed on a history wall in the club rooms on GAA Day. If interested in contributing contact Elaine Kelly.

Easter Week Events

Cultural Group
If you would like to participate  in any of the following  come to registration in club rooms 16th April @8.30pm . Fiddle playing , tin whistle, Irish language , Irish singing (English) or historical group.

New Kit

Anyone wishing to order club kit should come to Moneyglass community centre on Wednesday 15th 8.30pm where kit can be ordered  and prepaid. We have a selection of shorts ,socks and tops but if you want to order specific items and sizes this is  your opportunity  .

Our second quarter news letter was distributed at the weekend masses which give further information on whats happening in the background . topics included registration , development and fundraising. 


O’Cahan Cup Win

The Seniors progressed to the next round of the O,Cahan Cup on Tuesday night with a win against Aldergrove . The two teams played end to end football in a fast moving game . Moneyglass left its supporters on the edge upto the last 15min of the game when they  moved into 5th gear and pulled  away with a 4 point win over the opposition . The final score Aldergrove  1-9 vs Moneyglass 0-16.

Eventys 125th GAA Day

We would like to thank  everyone who attended , bought ticket`s or involved in the running of Blind Date and The Crazy Floker`s Night. This night was very well attended and that was down to our tickets sales.Special thanks to our Senior men and women who sold the majority of the ticket`s and all attended on the night. This was one of our most successful night ran yet. Blind Date is avaible  on DVD.
The Events committee are running a Youth Development Draw THE TICKET`S FOR THIS WILL BE GIVEN OUT OVER THE COMING WEEK. Draw will take place on the 10th of May at The GAC 125 Year anniversary Celebration`s. To mark this occasion we will be hold various event`s and entertainment for all. This is a big weekend being celebrate by every club. The main attraction on Sunday 10th of May is Lazer Quest and we will be running our Fun Day then as well, details of our celebration week end will follow. Remember keep that weekend free. Thank you for always supporting Club Functions.

CLUB DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

St Ergnats Strategic Development Plan is due to be published on La na gClub (Club Day) on Sunday 10th May. The plan sets out the strategic direction for the club and GAA in Moneyglass for the next 5 years and beyond, following successful consultation events held throughout 2008, with both the club members and the wider community .

The aim of the plan is to set out the best possible future for the club and its members and we would wish to thank all those who have attended the consultation events and assisted the process in anyway.
