AccessNI What is it ?

Anyone interested in helping around the under age teams be it parents, coaches, helpers or   mentors now have to be AccessNI cleared .  This is now mandatory and required by law and the GAA Ulster council have signed up to support this as a continuation of its child protection policy . Anyone who is interested in helping next year has to fill in the forms available from the club coaches and child protection officer. These forms have then to be returned to the C.P.O of the club who is the designated person in that club for their collection as agreed by the Ulster Council .

Child Protection Legislation from Ulster Council

children-football.jpgAs part of the Comhairle Uladh C.L.G. code of best practice in relation to child protection and to comply with current child protection legislation we have decided to take the necessary steps to ensure that all personnel who are working with children at under age/Minor level within our counties and clubs must be vetted.

From the 1st April 2008 new procedures are in place for vetting of personnel working with Children or Vulnerable Adults through ACCESSNI.  Comhairle Uladh is now a registered as an umbrella body with ACCESSNI, which allows us to carry out vetting checks.  It is now policy of the Ulster Council that anyone working with children or vulnerable adults at Provincial, County or Club level must be vetted
