This is the first year that St Benedicts have entered the Ulster Colleges Football competition and with great success as they WON . Pictured below is the under16 football squad which comprises of players from all the local gaelic teams , Moneyglass , Creggan , Cargin and Whitehill . Clooney was represented in the hurling .
At the presentation was Kevin Mc Guckin (Derry County Player ) who presented the BT Faul Cup (named after FR Denis Faul ) and Michael Magill ( Tir Na nOg) who presented The Hurling Trophy as well as winners medals to all the players . The lads also received a jersey from the sponsors Thornton Roofing.
Kevin commented on the success of the lads and that it was a great achievement for them and hoped that successive teams would follow in their footsteps . Michael also praised the players and encouraged them to keep up the training and presented the hurlers with winners medals also as they won the Hurling as well . It takes alot of commitment to be a dual player such as Michael Magill who is a good role model for the boys who wish to compete in both discipline’s .

We would like to congratulate the lads , St Benedicts College and all the team members and coaching staff is their achievements.
