sixty years ago a group of people in the community of Moneyglass got together and formed St Ergnat’s GAC . Thanks to the efforts of successive committee’s , volunteers , parents and players who nurtured the club to what it is today , with thirteen teams starting as young as Under 6 Boys and Girls upto Ladies and Mens Senior .

The club has supplied talented players to the county football and camogie over this period also. Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Moneyglass by Fr Paddy Mc Williams c.c. to a packed church with past players James Mc Erlaine and Paddy Mc Coy from the 1948 team and one of the founding members Cahal Boyd in attendance who listened to the combined choirs of Moneyglass and Ballyscullion.

The players paraded to the chuch in their teams and afterwards returned to the club rooms and marquee for refreshments , music and games for the younger members as well as a bouncy castle .

The Ladies Senior team played St Josephs , Glenavy at 6.30pm at Moneyglasss and the result topped of the day with a win for our Ladies Senior .

St Ergnat’s would like to thank everyone who attended todays event and also our club meeting which was attended by approx one hundred people in O’Neill Arms Hotel in Toome . We want to thank Stephen Mc Geehan ( Gaa Ulster Council ) Gerard Tracy ( Chairman Beragh Red Knights ) and Cahal Boyd for speaking at the meeting and giving us a direction for the future .

Findings from this meeting will be posted on the website for all as well as a hard copy posted to those who registered at the meeting . Our underage players are growing in confidence and developing social skills which will equip them and St Ergnat’s for success in the future .

More pictures will be added to gallery , we hope you enjoyed your day .
